Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has reportedly come into loggerheads with his domestic Pakistani side Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for 'preferring' Australian Twenty20 tournament Big Bash League over them.
The experienced all-rounder missed the on-going domestic matches for PIA, which is struggling to hold its own.
According to the Express Tribune, PIA Deputy General Manager Shoaib Mohammad has said that Malik did not inform the management before leaving to represent Hobart in the Australian tournament, adding that they might send him a show-cause notice for leaving without permission.
However, Malik denied Mohammad's accusations, saying that he took permission from both the PIA and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), adding that he continued to play for the PIA for the last 17 years despite the department breaking many promises to him.
Malik further said that if his character assassination is not stopped, then he reserves the right to switch to some other team.
