Spanish tennis maestro Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the second major of the season, French Open, due to a left wrist injury.

Confirming the news, the 14-time Grand Slam champion said that his wrist has not yet broken, but added that it would surely be aggravated if he continues to play at Roland Garros,Sport24 reported.

Nadal further said that it is certainly the toughest moment for him, but insisted that the heartbreaking setback did not mean the end of his career.

Nadal, who was seeking for his 10th Grand Slam title, has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, including right wrist injury that forced him to skip the 2014 US Open.

With the withdrawal, Nadal's Spanish compatriot Marcel Granollers will now move to the last 16.

Earlier, Nadal became only the eighth man to register 200th Grand Slam victory after he thrashed Argentina's Facundo Bagnis in straight sets in the second round of the French Open .
