Sikhs in Peshawar have taken to streets in protest against the alleged sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in Indian Punjab.

According to Dunyanews.tv, the protesters led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak's advisor Sardar Suran Singh gathered outside the press club and blocked the road.

They raised slogans against the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The protesters said that no community other than Hindus was safe in India and set a mannequin representing Modi on fire. Pakistani Sikhs have demanded Modi to resign.

In Indian- administered Punjab, widespread protests were reported following the alleged desecration of Guru Granth Sahib.

Punjab Police have arrested two people so far.
