Simon Cowell has revealed that he hopes that boy band One Direction will "stay together for a very long time".

Denying the split rumors, the 54-year-old music mogul took to Twitter to "clear up the rumours" and said that his "guess and hope" is that the boy band "stay together" and added that "the boys are having the best time", the Mirror reported.

Cowell, who had previously sparked rumors of their split by predicting that the band could split up one day, also said that their new album is "really good".

The 'Syco' boss had put together the boy band on the 2010 installment of 'X Factor'.
