A ski-jumper has broken the world record for the highest jump in skiing, as he jumped 250-metres at the World Cup event in Norway.
Slovenian Peter Prevc pulled off the spectacular jump at the World Cup event in Vikersund, Norway, which means that he is the first man ever to reach 250 metres.
Prevc beat the previous record of 246.5-metre, which was set by Norway's Johan Remen back in 2011, The Mirror reported.
Coincidentally, Prevc has never won any major ski jumping competitions, but did pick up silver and bronze at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, and finished second in last year's World Cup.
Prevc, named Slovenian athlete of the year in both 2013 and 2014, is currently leading the overall standings after 23 of the 31 World Cup events.
The Slovenian could win the World Cup in his home country, as the 2014-15 schedule concludes in Planica, Slovenia, on March 22, the report added.
