South Africa's skipper Graeme Smith has urged fans to come to cricket grounds to support the Proteas during Australia's upcoming tour, starting February 12.
Smith took to Twitter to convey his message to Proteas fans: "I understand people back at work/school but really hope people turn out in droves and put their weight behind SA cricket next month!"
The poor crowd attendance at both the Wanderers and Kingsmead for the two-Test India series late last year was an embarrassment for South African cricket, Sport24 reports.
The crowd attendance at Kingsmead over all five days was less than the worst attended single day of the Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
