Snapchat apologises again, this time for 'spam snaps'

Snapchat has reportedly apologised for a second time after users complained of increased spam in their feed.

The auto-destruct picture sharing company recently said sorry after personal data of nearly 4.6 million users was compromised in a security breach.

According to Mashable, hundreds of users took to Twitter, and complained of being bombarded with spam chats (or "snaps") following the security breach.

Snapchat apologized for the fiasco and said that a team was working on resolving the issue.

The company said that the surge in spam was due to the service growing quickly.

The report said that many of the spam snaps posted weight loss and penis enlargement promotions.

Users have the option to change their accounts privacy settings to "only my friends", and potentially save themselves any embarrassment.
