Sulochanadevi Singhania School, Thane has inaugurated 'Singhania Sports Academy' in the presence of Former Indian Tennis Player Somdev Devvarman.
The academy, which is a joint venture between Sports Ignite and Sulochana Singhania School (Thane), is designed and maintained by Sports Ignite.
"I am happy that Singhania School has taken the initiative of nurturing sports at grassroot level with this modern facility and everyone will be able to able to use these facilities. As a nationwe need to start playing sports which will help in making India a Sporting Powerhouse in years to come." He further added, "With my NGO "Life is a Ball" along with Sports ignite, we hope to reach out to many underprivileged kids who otherwise would not have access to sports. This will help the country churn out sportsmen in various disciplines in the near future," said Somdev Devvarman.
"Apart from academics, Singhania School also believes in imparting a holistic blend of education in the co-curricular field preparing students to face life. Singhania School has always been a pioneer in promoting an overall personality of students be it academics, cultural or sports. Sports education is very important for students because it not only helps physical development but also boost life skills - skills of leadership, communication, inter-personal skills, problem solvingand strategizing," said Education & Principal, Director, Revathi Srinivasan.
Hiroo Swaroop, Founder, Sports Ignite said, "World needs it and we deliver it. Sports Education is here to stay. Sports Ignite provides Training and Management, builds Sports Infrastructure and provides Consultancy on the development and maintenance of sports facilities and organizes professional sports events for youth and corporates since 2014 and since then grown multidimensional in sports with an aim to provide holistic and complete end to end solutions to various educational institutions and more. With the new Singhania JV, we plan to coach the young talent to sharpen their skills & cultivate their sports abilities and take it to the next level. We are also proud to contribute Rs. 100,000/- for Somdev Devvarman's NGO "Life is a Ball". It is our way of helping children have more access to sports thus making them healthy and creating healthy surroundings."
Sulochanadevi Singhania School, today introduced complete professional coaching in Basketball and Lawn Tennis to be played on synthetic acrylic courts. She further added, "I am sure our students would love to be a part of it. We are glad to open this opportunity to students of other schools in Thane and nearby areas as well. For in-house students the training will be conducted during school hours and for other students the facilities will be made available after school hours. It is my dream to help create future generations of sportspersons who will represent the country."
While announcing, the upcoming inter-school tournaments Revathi Srinivasan, Director - Education & Principalshared, "We are also coming up with having tournaments in our school with high efficiency sports lighting system. I am sure all these facilities and coaching will inspire more and more students to take up Sports in a big way. Today Sports can also be a Profession and therefore I would encourage students to make best use of all these facilities offered by Singhania School in order to be a good sports person.
