The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Somnath Bharti for allegedly assaulting security guards at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Bharti is an MLA from south Delhi's Malviya Nagar.
On September 12, AIIMS chief security officer accused Bharti of disrupting peace in the hospital premises.
The officer alleged that Bharti and a huge group of his supporters beat up the posted security personnel who had asked them to leave the hospital premises.
However, Bharti said the AIIMS had illegally encroached on a public road and was utilizing it as the car-parking area.
