IOC executive board member Sam Ramsamy has revealed that South Africa is going to bid to host either the 2024 or 2028 Olympics.
According to Sport24, Ramsamy, the first president of South Africa's united Olympic committee, disclosed that the bid is definitely coming.
Ramsamy also said he would talk to the government about a bid after the national elections in April or May.
South Africa considered bidding for the 2020 Games after successfully hosting the 2010 World Cup, but the government backed off to focus on pressing social issues, the report said.
IOC President Thomas Bach said this week in South Africa that an African bid would enjoy great sympathy with IOC members, as it is the only continent that hasn't been awarded the games, the report added.
