Sri Lanka have beaten Bangladesh by an innings and 248 runs in the first Test match at Sher-e-Bangla National stadium, Dhaka, on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, Dilruwan Perera, who captured five wickets for 109 runs, helped fold Bangladesh for just 250 runs in its second innings. The team had earlier made just 232 runs in its first innings whereas Sri Lanka riding on veteran batsman Mahela Jayawardene's unbeaten 203, declared their first innings on 730 for six.

The lone man to offer some resistance in Bangladesh's second innings was Mominul Haque, who hit 50 off 58 balls.
