President Pranab Mukherjee administered the oath of office to Mrs. Sushma Singh as the New Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on Thursday.
She was working as Information Commissioner and served as Secretary to the Govt. of India in different Ministries.
She is the fifth Chief Information Commissioner of the Central Information Commission.
Singh became Information Commissioner on September 23, 2009 in the Central Information Commission. She had retired from Indian Administrative Service (IAS) on May 31, 2009.
She is a former Secretary to the Government of India and belongs to the Jharkhand cadre.
