Swachh Bharat Pakhwada: DoNER initiative driven by NGO 'My Home India"

A society that understands importance of cleanliness can build a prosperous country.

'My Home India', a Delhi-based NGO, has with this thought as motto organized a cleanliness drive titled "Swachh Bharat Pakhwada" in Kotla Mubarakpur in association with Ministry of Development of North East Region (DoNER).

The drive was initiated by the students and other north-eastern people residing in Delhi.

DoNER Director S.P. Singh, who was the chief guest on the occasion, shared his thoughts on importance of cleanliness and expressed his views on how we can strengthen our country by the idea of cleanliness.

He also emphasized the fact that people from all north-eastern states were involved in this mission.

Singh said, "The initiative from Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the thoughts of people about cleanliness and how taking a broom in your hand today is not a stigma which used to be before. He called upon everyone to join this noble cause and change the image of our country in eyes of the world."

Local Councilor Kusumlata Pahelwan also graced the occasion.

Vinay Pandey, the general secretary of My Home India, while talking to the media on the sidelines of the event shared his thoughts on importance of cleanliness in our day to day lives.

Lauding Prime Minister Modi's 'Swachh Bharat' initiative, he said: "We all may be from different parts of India, but we all are part of the big family called 'India'."

The programme was also addressed by Public Relation Officer Parag Nerurkar, who encouraged the youth present on the occasion to take part in this kind of drive.

He said, "Cleanliness is not next to goodliness, but it is godliness itself."

It is to be noted that idea of this cleanliness drive is driven My Home India founder Sunil Deodhar. Under his leadership, My Home India is organizing similar cleanliness drive initiatives throughout the country.
