Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh on Thursday urged the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to take action against External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for the role they played in former IPL chairman Lalit Modi receiving travel papers, adding that they had committed an act 'which cannot be defended'.

"I want to warn the BJP and the RSS that they should not try to redefine nationalism and patriotism because whatever Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje had done is against the rule of law of this country and anybody who breaks the law of the country or helps such individuals cannot claim to be a nationalist and patriot," Ashutosh told ANI.

"I want to tell the BJP and the RSS... it is an act which cannot be and should not be defended. It is high time that they realise their mistakes, take action against them and prove to the world that they believe in the Constitution and rule of law," he added.

In more trouble for the BJP which has been defending External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj so far despite opposition demands that she be sacked for helping Lalit Modi, the former IPL boss has claimed that Raje secretly supported his immigration plea in Britain.

Since this information came to light, the opposition has been clamouring for Raje's resignation.
