Thomas Muller, one of the primary transfer targets of Manchester United, is reportedly set to refuse the club's attempts to lure him into joining them.
The attacking midfielder, whose contract with Bayern Munich does not expire until 2017, would probably reject United's advances, with the German Champions not wanting to transfer him.
According to The Guardian, Muller has a particular affinity with Louis Van Gaal as the Dutchman gave him a first-team opportunity when in charge of Bayern. Van Gaal's faith allowed Muller to play himself into Germany's squad for the 2010 World Cup where he proved one of the tournament's better performers.
However, the 24 year old footballer expressed his desire to not join the club and is contented with his position at Bayern Munich.
Reports further revealed that the move comes as Van Gaal's, who is the new manager of United, has targeted Toni Kroos, Muller's team mate to rebuild the Premier League club.
