Tibetan spiritual leader Karmapa Lama visited the Mahabodhi temple in Bihar's Bodh Gaya town yesterday.
Karmapa, who is revered by Tibetan Buddhists as the 17th reincarnation of a 900-year old spirit, performed special prayers at the temple premises in Bodh Gaya town.
Arvind Singh, a member of Mahabodhi temple committee, said that Karmapa is scheduled to offer special prayers in December in which thousands of Buddhist will participate.
"Buddhist spiritual leader 17th Karmapa offered special prayers at Mahabodhi temple. After the prayers, he walked around the temple premises. He will stay here at the monastery. In December, Karmapa Lama is scheduled to offer a special prayer in which thousands of Buddhists will take part," said Arvind Singh.
