CEO Tim Cook has reportedly labeled a new book about Apple that focuses on the company in post-Steve Jobs era as 'nonsense.'

The tech giant's boss apparently isn't too impressed with former Wall Street Journal technology reporter Yukari Iwatani Kane's book, titled 'Haunted Empire,' which draws comparison between Jobs and Cook.

According to Cnet, the book argues that Apple is in a period of decline from the apogee it reached during the reign of its legendary co-founder Jobs.

However, Cook, who took over as CEO in August 2011 after an ailing Jobs resigned, blasted the book in a published statement as 'nonsense.'

In a rare public statement in response to the book's claims, Cook noted that the nonsense belongs with some of the other books he has read about Apple, adding that the tech giant has over 85,000 employees that come to work each day to deliver the world's best products and leave their mark in the universe.

He further said that he was very confident of the company's future, the report added.
