Now that the Holi season is over, it is time to pay attention to your skin that must have been stripped of moisture thanks to your desperate attempts to get rid of the color.
Shahnaz Hussain advises that if you have applied any makeup, remove it with a makeup remover first, then use a mild cleanser with lukewarm water to wash off the color, but do not rub vigorously as you would be scraping off the skin of its protective layer.
Bollywood beauty Sonakshi Sinha, a self-confessed Holi fan, said that she usually bathes in mustard oil before playing Holi but in case the colour still stays, she relies on using baby oil instead of her moisturizer for a day or two till the colour fades.
Never ever try to get the entire colour off in a day, she added.
Rod Anker, Creative Director of Monsoon Salon and Spa, said that their clarifying treatments and massages use essential oils that gently scrub the color off while moisturizing the skin.
