You would think that nothing would give parents more pleasure than reading their kids a bedtime story, but it turns out that over 1/3rd of parents are too tired and busy to do it.
A study of 1,000 families, commissioned by sat-nav firm Tom-Tom for a children's book promotion, revealed that while fathers were often tied due to working late or a long commute, mothers were simply too tired, the Daily Express reported.
Child psychologist Dr Richard Woolfson said that a bedtime story prove rewarding for young ones, however, with the demanding schedules, parents often struggle to find the time.
He added that the average story takes only 16 minutes, and it could be planned easily into the parents' daily schedule to make it their child's routine.
