Extending complete support to the Congress, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday said it strongly opposes the idea of suspension from the Parliament.
"To suspend 25 MPs together is not good for the healthy parliamentary democracy. We extend our support to the Congress and are against the decision of suspending the party's MPs," TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay said.
He further said that the TMC leaders would not attend the session for the next five days in protest of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan's decision.
"We are going to remain absent from the running session," Bandyopadhyay said.
Mahajan today suspended 25 Congress MPs over disruption of parliamentary proceedings under ruling 374 (A).
