The election department in Tamil Nadu is gearing up for a first of its kind pledge-taking-movement to promote ethical voting.

The state chief electoral officer Rajesh Lakhoni told the media yesterday that over ten million voters will take part in the mass movement at 10 am on Tuesday and swear they would not give or take money for voting.

The Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi will be reviewing poll preparedness in Tamil Nadu with key officials in the state through video conferencing on May 12th.

Meanwhile, various leaders addressed election rallies across the state yesterday.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi at his Coimbatore rally last evening criticised, the AIADMK regime has taken much more from the people through liquor than what it gave as freebies.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pon. Radhakrishnan said in Kanyakumari, that the ruling party's 100-unit free power promise will lead the state power firm into deep trouble which is already left with heavy debt.

CPI General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy asserted that the centre has failed in many of its assurances and remarked, the leaders of both the Dravidian parties in the state are politically and personally corrupt.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a mega BJP rally at Kanyakumari this evening.
