TriStar Pictures has acquired the worldwide rights of Jodie Foster's thriller 'Money Monster' movie.

George Clooney will portray the role of TV personality who would be held hostage on air by a man who lost all his money on a bad tip, the Hollywood Reporter reported.

Jamie Linden wrote the screenplay, while Jim Kouf and Alan DiFiore penned previous drafts. Led by Tom Rothman, TriStar has become competitive in scooping up prime hot properties. Money Monster would be made for 30 million dollars.
