Turkish air force has carried out new airstrikes in Syria and northern Iraq against the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

According to the BBC, Turkish jets also hit Kurdish militants in northern Iraq in the second successive night where ISIS was targeted.

The airstrikes came after border clashes with the militant group and the attack in the Turkish town of Suruc that killed 32 people.

The Iraq strikes were the first time Turkey had attacked the Kurdistan Workers' Party since a 2013 truce.
