Hours after the United States embassy in Jerusalem was inaugurated in Israel's Jerusalem, Turkey on Tuesday recalled its ambassadors both to the US and Israel.
As reported by the Anadolu Agency, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said envoys in Tel Aviv and Washington are being called back for consultations.
"Jerusalem's historic and spiritual status will never change. As it was before, Jerusalem will continue to be independent Palestine's capital," he said.
Yesterday, in the presence of a US delegation, including Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, a brand new US embassy was inaugurated at Jerusalem's Arnona area, amid the violent clashes in Gaza, which claimed over 50 lives.
In regard to the same matter, the Turkish government has also declared three days of mourning in solidarity with Palestine.
