A Turkish Airlines Airbus A330 jet flying from New York City to Istanbul has been diverted and landed safely in Halifix in Canada after a bomb threat.
According to the Russian Television, firefighting crews and police are on stand-by on the ground to isolate, evacuate, and search the aircraft.
Canadian emergency services and Royal Canadian Mounted Police are responding to the situation.
The fire department earlier tweeted that a bomb threat has been made.
The nature of the threat has still not been confirmed. However, plane watchers on social media have speculated it may have been made online.
