Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has criticized the US over its "impertinence" on the Syrian crisis.

According to News 24, the Turkish President's remarks have exposed the extent of strains between Washington and Ankara days after his key meeting with US Vice President Joe Biden.

Erdogan, on Wednesday, accused the US of being "impertinent" for exercising pressure on Turkey to join the US-led campaign against the Islamic State jihadists in the northern Syrian city of Kobani.

Addressing a group of businessmen in Ankara, Erdogan said that Turkey was against impertinence, recklessness and endless demands of the US.

He said that the US remained silent when President Bashar Assad massacred 300 000 people and now they were staging a 'conscience show' through Kobane.

Erdogan added that Turkey would resolve its problems not with the help of a 'superior mind' but with the help of its people.
