Twelve feared dead as boat capsizes near Bihar's Garhi Dam

At least twelve people are feared dead after a boat capsized near the Garhi Dam in Bihar's Jamui District this afternoon.

"We will rescue all those who have drowned. All possible help will be extended," Jamui District Magistrate Shashikant Tiwari said.

He also announced a relief amount of Rs. one lakh fifty thousand to each family of the dead victims.

Bodies of six people have been recovered till now.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has been rushed to the spot and a search operation is on.
