Jharkhand Police has confirmed the arrest of two Maoists who were allegedly involved in the supply of arms and ammunition to other rebels.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Palamu Narendra Kumar Singh said acting on a tip off, a raid was conducted at their hideout here on Monday to dismantle an illegal arms factory.
"They are members of the Maoists outfits such as the TPC (Tritiya Prastuti Committee). They were supplying illegal arms. We have recovered two 3.15 rifles, country-made Sten gun, country-made pistol and live bullets. We have also recovered tools that were used to make illegal arms," said Singh.
The arrested Maoists Dinanath Singh and Surendra Giri, both in their thirties, are associated with Jharkhand Prastuti Committee, a breakaway faction of CPI(Maoists).
