Taxi aggregator Uber on Monday announced appointment of Pavan Vaish as the new Head of Central Operations.

Pavan, who joins Uber with over 25 years of experience in building and leading global technology businesses, was the co-founder and CEO of Daksh e-services, and grew it to a 40,000 people strong organization.

"We are delighted to have Pavan Vaish join Uber India as the head of central operations. Pavan has a proven record of creating and building organizations that leave a legacy and has worked hard to create an inclusive, global culture within organizations over the years. We are confident that Pavan will play a pivotal role in writing the next chapter in the company's growth journey," said President Uber India & South Asia, Uber, Pradeep Parameswaran.

"Uber is an iconic brand and the company has played a critical role in shaping India's ride-sharing ecosystem. In my new role, I look forward to drive the next phase of its growth through operational excellence and strategic innovation," said Pavan Vaish on his appointment.

Earlier in his career, Pavan also co-founded Quadrant Infotech, an offshore data capturing business focused on the US market.

A visionary among BPO industry leaders, Pavan has been guiding the industry toward achieving competitive advantages beyond labor arbitrage long before the onset of commoditization of BPO services.
