UFO Sightings Daily author Scott Waring has claimed that the grainy digital pictures of Mercury show recently built structures.

He said that the structures are without breaks or fissures and clean with no dirt of dust blanketing them over time, which reveals that they are occupied, News.com.au reported.

Waring said that he had found proof of a "face" on Mercury, which is similar to that found on Mars decades ago by the Viking space probes.

He said that it was massive in scale and appeared as if he was looking at the face of a statue here on Earth, but this was tens of floors high.

Waring said that he saved the image and then a few days later a virus wiped out his whole computer, then he embarked on a 5-year quest to look for the "face" again.

He asserted that it was this quest that produced the new pictures of what he says are structures on Mercury.
