The second round of the United Nations negotiations on climate change have concluded in Bonn, Germany, with observers terming the progress as 'positive'.

Negotiators from close to 200 countries have worked on a draft of a new global climate agreement for two weeks, aiming for it to be signed in Paris at the United Nations Climate Change Conference later this year and come into force in 2020, Xinhua reported, adding that only five pages have been trimmed off the original draft.

China's chief negotiator Su Wei was quoted by Xinhua as saying that the meeting in Bonn has 'helped clarify views' and strengthen mutual understanding and trust.

Negotiators will have two more sessions in August and October before they go to Paris.
