Under the tutelage of Bikram Singh Majithia, 101 couples tied nuptial knot

To mark the 63rd martyrdom day of Baba Jiwan Singh, Gurudwara Baba Jiwan Singh, organized mass marriages for under the tutelage of Bikram Singh Majithia Revenue and Information and Public Relations Minister.

Bikram Singh Majithia applauded the efforts of the organizing committee leader by Mukhtiar Singh Chaati for their efforts to organize flawless ceremony. He blessed the couples and gifted them household things for smooth beginning of the couples' married life. He also called upon people to come forward to support Mass weddings.

Speaking on the Occasion, he said, "While it is an attempt to share the burden of financially weak people for ensuring timely marriages of their daughters, it is also a contribution towards Sikhism as Guru Nanak Dev ji has given the highest place to Grahastha Ashram."

He further added, "Due to the financial burden of organizing a wedding ceremony, many couples below the poverty line get married without any rituals which doesn't get them recognition of a married couple. It is our moral responsibility to help the deprived get married with respect in a proper religious ceremony. We have been organizing such mass weddings for over five years now."

The marriage rituals were conducted as per Sikh traditions.

Present on the occasion were Harvinder Singh Bhullar, Chairman; Sardar Joginder Singh, President, Gurdwara Committee; Mukhwinder Singh, Counsellor amongst others.
