Criticising the company's policies, Taylor Swift has apparently pulled off her hit album '1989' from Apple's new streaming music service.

Writing an open letter to the multi-national company, the 25-year-old singer told that she was withholding the record as she was unhappy with the three-month free trial offered to subscribers, reported the BBC.

The 'Shake It Off' hit-maker said that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months and she finds it shocking, disappointing and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company, who has been her best partner in selling music.

Swift added that her words were the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in her social circles, who were afraid to speak up publicly because they admire and respect Apple so much.

Three months was a long time to go unpaid and was unfair to ask anyone to work for nothing.

The American singer ended her letter by calling on Apple to change its policy, suggesting she would reinstate her album on the service if the company changed its mind.
