Union Ministers Anant Kumar and Sarbanand Sonowal on Monday felicitated Indian team for Blind Cricket that will be participating in the Blind Cricket ODI World Cup.
The tournament is scheduled to be held in South Africa. The 17 member squad led by Shekar Naik is scheduled to leave for South Africa late tonight. It will be accompanied by three officials.
Both ministers said the team has the best wishes not only ofthe Government of India, but also of the entire nation.
They also expressed the hope that the team will perform well to win the tournament.
Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has given Rs. 10 lakhs as financial assistance to the team.
