Manchester United have landed Portuguese international William Carvalho, who will join the club before the World Cup finals in Brazil, for a 37 million-pound deal and are also confident of landing Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos.
The Sporting Clube de Portugal defensive midfielder's agent reportedly got a tour of United's Carrington training ground last week and Carvalho will sign for United before the World Cup finals this summer.
According to the Mirror, United boss David Moyes is also confident that he can add Kroos, who is keen to move to Old Trafford despite United failing to make it to the Champions League next season, to his squad.
It looks like Carvalho will be the first of at least five major signings at United this season as the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodword has reportedly been working hard to put the deals in place for the club.
Although a host of top clubs like Chelsea are keen on signing Carvalho, Moyes and Woodword have vowed not to be caught out again this year as they missed out on targets like Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas and Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrara last summer, the report added.
