Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Friday said that unlike the UPA Government, the Narendra Modi-led Government had given complete freedom to the Border Security Force (BSF) to retaliate heavily to the firing from the Pakistani side.
"If you see carefully, after our Government came into power, every incident that has happened since across the border has been investigated thoroughly. Unlike before, when our soldiers were killed on the border and we sat with our hands tied, this government has given complete freedom to the BSF to take strong action," Rijiju told the media here.
He also asserted that the Government does not take ceasefire violations lightly, but they also do not make an issue or a controversy out of it.
Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir earlier to which the Indian forces retaliated heavily.
