Two wanted criminals on Thursday night sustained injuries in an encounter with the police after they attempted to flee by firing on a police team.
"We were conducting a checking-drive when we got information about some criminals. They were roaming with their faces covered with cloth. They started firing when we chased them", SSP Anand Kulkarni told reporters.
"Two out of four sustained injuries and were captured whereas two others managed to flee. They are an active member of a criminal gang. They were involved in various criminal acts and there is also a reward on them", he added.
Two of the arrested accused has been identified as Shailesh and Deepak who were carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
Police are searching for the other two criminals who managed to escape.
