Addressing a rally in Maharajganj on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said polls would change the fate of the Samajwadi Party (SP), the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Congress.

"The state will change the fate of the trio of SP, BSP and Congress. These three are enjoying freedom in the state, as they have to get out of this election and not rebel, nor be tainted," said Modi.

He also hinted at the possibility of there being a hung assembly in the state.

"After several rounds of voting, I can tell you that they (SP, Congress) are losing. People have rejected them. Now, Samajwadi Party, Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are working on a new game plan... they are working for a hung assembly," said Prime Minister.

"I started Swachh Bharat Abhyan across India, but people of UP should take it to another level by cleaning all dirt from politics in the state. One has expertise in ruining the country; other has expertise in ruining UP. What will happen if they come together?" added Modi.

The sixth phase of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place on Saturday.

Fortynine constituencies spread over seven districts of eastern UP will go to polls in this phase.

These districts are Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Azamgarh, Mau and Ballia.
