A dummy US Hellfire missile which was used for Nato training in Spain in 2014 has been mistakenly shipped to Havana.

Although the inert missile did not contain any explosives yet there are concerns that Cuba could share the technology with potential US enemies such as North Korea or Russia, reported The Guardian.

The defence department explained Hellfire is a laser-guided, air-to-surface missile that weighs about 45kg (100lb) manufactured by Lockheed Martin.

It can be deployed from an attack helicopter such as the Apache or an unmanned drone, Predator.

The US said that it did not want any defence technology to remain in a proscribed country, whether that country can use it or not.

According to the sources, US have been urging the Cuban government to return the missile. The US and Cuba restored their diplomatic relations restored in July 2015 after more than 50 years of hostility.
