US Muslim group slammed for picking wrong date of 9/11 for march demanding justice

An American Muslim group has been reportedly slammed for choosing the wrong date of September 11 to march in Washington in order to complain about religious profiling and President Obama's handling of investigations into the 9/11 terror attacks.

American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC), which is organizing the march, claims that Muslims nationwide have been the victims of anti-Islamic bigotry in the years following the 9/11 attacks in 2001 by Al-Qaeda militants which killed nearly 3,000 people in America.

It further said that every media outlet and anti Islamic organization has committed slanderous and libel statements against Muslim and their religion of Islam, Fox News reports.

Accusing the government of being indifferent, the group said that administration sits idly and does nothing to protect their freedoms or it exacerbates the problem with its constant war on terrorism in Islamic countries, congressional hearings on Islam in America, and its changes to the NDAA law.

One of the march's main organizers, M.D. Rabbi Alam defended the march and said that demonstrators will stand on that day to show America that Muslims denounce terrorism.

However, critics said that the US has gone to great lengths to differentiate between Islam and Islamic extremists since the 2001 attacks adding that the chosen date by the Muslim group is a sensitive date to the victims and their family members.

President of the Islamic Forum for Democracy, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, said that the group is a bunch of

'truthers' who think that America is to blame for everything and identified some of the leaders of the march as 'being virulent, anti-Semites who think 9/11 was a conspiracy theory'.

Jasser further said that these people are problematic and had they been truly patriotic Americans and moderates, they'd be marching on the courthouse steps of the Fort Hood trial to tell Americans that they want the death penalty for Nidal Hissan rather than organizing such a movement in exploiting the date of 9/11.
