Van Gaal insists has 'clear vision' for Man U despite changing formation 'too much'

Manchester United football team manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that he might have changed the club's formation too much in his first 11 Premier League games in charge of the Old Trafford outfit, but insists that he retains a 'clear vision' for the team.

For Saturday's 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace the Dutch coach continued with the 4-1-4-1 from the previous week's defeat to Manchester City, his third formation of the season so far, but with more tinkering as Daley Blind had to be moved to centre-back.

The formation finally paid off for Van Gaal as he recorded his fourth win as United manager, and also managed his third clean sheet, but it came at the cost of attacking verve, The Independent reported.

The Dutchman agreed that it is too much change of formation, but he also insisted that he is looking for the balance and when one sees the last four matches, United has had more balance because they haven't conceded many goals.

Nevertheless, Van Gaal admitted that they didn't score so much, and added that with the other system, they scored a lot of goals.

So many changes have raised questions over whether Van Gaal does actually have a plan.

But, the manager has insisted that he has a clear vision for the club, not a rockier one, and he is very confident in it. He said that he doesn't think this is arrogant, and added that it is self-confidence, although not only confidence in himself but in his players, in the club, in the structure and organisation.
