Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday assured the family members of Manoj Vashishtha that a fair probe would be undertaken of the alleged encounter that led to the latter's death at a restaurant here last week.
"The Home Minister assured us that he has given directions for the formation of an SIT for the case and that the post mortem will also be video graphed. He also assured us that justice will be done, we are satisfied," said Vashishtha's wife, Priyanka.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
Vashishtha was shot dead by Delhi Police in an encounter at the Sagar Ratna Restaurant in the city's Old Rajender Nagar market on Friday night.
Following the shoot-out, he was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
