Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday demanded the resignation of the current state chief, Vasundhara Raje, on moral grounds over her alleged involvement in the Lalit Modi row.
"Vasundhara ji should resign on moral grounds. Whenever any allegations were imposed on any of the chief minsters or administrative officer in the past, our high command immediately asked for resignations. Let's see how much courage Modiji will show in the matter," said Gehlot.
In more trouble for the BJP which has been defending External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj so far despite opposition demands that she be sacked for helping Lalit Modi, the former IPL boss has claimed that Raje secretly supported his immigration plea in Britain.
Since this information came to light, the opposition has been clamouring for Raje's resignation.
