Vettel admits no 'quick fix' for Red Bull's problems despite 'positive' Bahrain test

Red Bull champion Sebastian Vettel has admitted that there will be no 'quick solution' for his team's problems with their car even though his title defence finally appeared to get going in Bahrain during the second test.

Although the German was nearly five seconds off the pace of front-runner Kevin Magnussen near the end of the second day in the Gulf kingdom, there was a consolation for the champions as Vettel fired in over 40 laps - more than all the other testing days put together.

According to the Mirror, although Vettel, whose fastest timing was a 1m 40.34s, believes he knows the source of the issues pestering the team, he admitted that it is not easy for them to find a quick solution and they still have a long way to go.

Vettel further said that they need to work on improving the car's reliability, temperature and general accoutrements, along with the Renault side of the business, although he added that it is not fair to separate the two as they are a team.

However, Vettel is confident that they have 'clever people on board' who can fix the problem, and denied Red Bull still had their backs against the wall as pre-season testing reached the half-way marker.

While the Mercedes-powered Force India car of Nico Hulkenberg achieved a best of 1m 36.445s early on the McLaren racer lowered the mark with a 1m 35.489s, the report added.
