Asserting that violence has no place in a democracy, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday asked the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) groups to give up the same.

Rajnath reviewed the Left Wing Extremism situation in Jharkhand at a meeting in Ranchi.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raman Singh was also present in the meeting.

Talking about the demonetisation move, Rajnath said the Left Wing Extremism has taken a big hit after the drive and asserted that the LWE problem could be resolved through sustained efforts in few years.

"We also need to be mindful of cyber-terrorism. Hacking is also a big threat," he said.

Rajnath asked the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to develop competence against these threats.

The Home Minister laid the foundation stone of a housing project for CISF personnel in the city and also inaugurated the Eastern Sector Headquarter building.
