Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka has beaten Czech fifth seed Tomas Berdych 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 in his ATP World Tour Finals debut on Monday.
According to Sport24, seventh seed Wawrinka will play world number one Rafael Nadal and Spain's David Ferrer in his remaining Group A matches later this week.
The Swiss said that his first impression was that it was really nice to be in London, adding that he saw the tournament so many times on TV, and to play was something different.
He also said that it was special to win his first match in London, adding that it was a good atmosphere and there were a lot of Swiss fans in the crowd.
Wawrinka has enjoyed the best year of his career and victory in his maiden appearance in the prestigious season-ending event at London's O2 Arena was another feather in his cap, the report said.
