'Wazir' is a tactfully constructed movie with good screenplay. The movie revolves around an Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) officer Daanish Ali (Farhan Akhtar), who loses his daughter while chasing a terrorist. This incident put his marriage to Roohana (Aditi Rao Hydari) on the rocks as Roohana believes Daanish is responsible for the death of their daughter. This drives Daanish mad so much that he tries to commit suicide.
That's when a wallet lying close to the graveyard leads to a wheel chair ridden Pandit Omkar Nath Dhar (Amitabh Bachchan) who teaches Daanish the essence of life, love chess and revenge. Panditji has been a victim at the hands of a welfare minister Qureishi (Manav) and somehow Panditji convinces Daanish to investigate the minister. The whole investigation turns wild after a brutal attack on Panditji by Wazir (Neil Nitin Mukesh).
Amitabh portrays his character with finesse and his sheepish smile together with weary jokes are killer and proves that he is the grandmaster of the game. His character mesmerizes Daanish played by Farhan will ease and conviction. Manav Kaul portrayal of the minister is also very good and convincing. Aditi looks lovely and gorgeous although she there are less dialogues and more of dancing in her character. Her character is surrounded with too many kids, which makes the movie lose its pace. The movie is a perfect balance of emotions, performance, mystery and thrill. The movie is fast paced one with a hint of romance between Daanish and Roohana. The action sequences in the movie are thrilling and quite intense. All these factors have blended in quite well to give the move a good watch thumbs up.
There are many twists and turns in the movie which keeps you interested throughout. This is one of the very few movies which have less of songs and more of movie. The movie is driven by Amitabh and Farhan and both of them have given stellar performance.
The movie is must watch owing to its fast paced and thrilling nature.
