WB polls: Mamata releases TMC's manifesto, takes on critics

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who released the TMC's manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections here on Friday, said it has been prepared keeping in mind the welfare of all people of the state.

Silencing her critics, Banerjee said the TMC believes in performing its task in an efficient manner.

"The work has been initiated for development and progress. Financial discipline has been achieved and set by our government," she said.

The TMC boss also highlighted the achievements made by her government in past five years.

"Infrastructure projects and many other growth related projects, which were started, would be completed by this year. 80 percent of the work has been done and 20 percent will be achieved by March this year," Banerjee said.

"We have huge responsibility; we do not speak uselessly and do not make false acclamations," she added.

The Election Commission on Friday announced the dates for the West Bengal assembly elections, according to which the first phase of the six-phase voting will take place on April 4 and 11, while the second and third phases will be conducted on April 17 and 21, respectively.

The last three phases of elections will take place on April 25 and 30 April and May5, whereas the votes will be counted and results will be declared on May19.
