Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly revealed that he has promised the club that he would continue his stay with them as manager beyond this season and agreed to sign a new deal.
Wenger, whose contract ends in the summer and had an unsigned extension remaining at Arsenal as their Premier League title challenge unraveled in recent months, said that he has given his word to the club and that he wants to continue where he is.
Despite earlier speculations that the Frenchman might be ready to leave after 18 months being in charge at Emirates Stadium, Wenger now looks certain to extend his contract with Arsenal after a season, which could end with his squad bagging the FA Cup trophy, the Guardian reported.
Arsenal will host Newcastle United on Monday as they are hoping to cement their place in the top four of the Premier League ahead of Everton, the report added.
