A new study has revealed that women prefer dating "war heroes" than any other men.
Psychologist Joost Leunissen, the survey's co-author, said the reasons were probably rooted in the history when brave men were seen as making better partners, the Daily Star reported.
University of Southampton researchers say that women are more attracted towards war heroes than regular soldiers or men who display heroic traits in other fields, such as in sports or natural disaster work, and partners in Europe.
The research also found men were less attracted to women in the combat environment.
The study is published in the journal Evolution and Human Behaviour.
